US Export sales for week ending 27/10/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 430,000 pieces were 11 per cent below the previous week and 3 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 430,400 pieces were mainly for China (218,700 pieces) and South Korea (117,100 pieces). Exports of 470,700 pieces were 2 per cent higher than the prior week and 7 per cent over the previous 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 461,200 pieces were primarily for China (195,800 pieces), South Korea (107,300 pieces), and Taiwan (44,800 pieces).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,017,200 pounds were 50 per cent below the week earlier and 24 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Major increases for Italy (526,300 pounds) and China (436,900 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong (17,800 pounds) and Taiwan (14,900 pounds). Exports of 1,700,600 pounds were 27 per cent higher than the week earlier and 38 per cent above the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (634,700 pounds), China (575,000 pounds), Taiwan (185,100 pounds), and Italy (176,300 pounds).
