US Export sales for week ending 20/10/2005

Hides and Skins: Net sales of 483,000 pieces were 8 per cent above the previous week and 12 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 468,600 pieces were mainly for South Korea (183,100 pieces) and China (125,200 pieces). Exports of 460,500 pieces were 9 per cent higher than the prior week and 4 per cent over the previous 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 442,200 pieces were primarily for China (168,400 pieces), South Korea (120,000 pieces), and Taiwan (55,800 pieces).
Net sales of 95,600 wet blues were 12 per cent below the week earlier and 8 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (41,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (23,100 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (12,000 grain split and 7,900 unsplit). Exports of 81,700 hides were 21 per cent below the prior week and the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (19,800 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (14,900 grain split and 1,600 unsplit), Taiwan (10,600 unsplit), and Hong Kong (10,100 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totalling 2,033,300 pounds were two and four-fifths times the week earlier and 82 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (845,300 pounds), China (616,000 pounds), and Italy (528,000 pounds). Exports of 1,334,500 pounds were 64 per cent higher than the week earlier and 7 per cent above the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (846,600 pounds), Italy (222,300 pounds), and South Korea (135,000 pounds).
