Hides and Skins: Net sales of 529,500 pieces were 23 per cent above the previous week and 10 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 518,700 pieces were mainly for China (297,700 pieces), Taiwan (67,300 pieces), and South Korea (57,400 pieces). Exports of 442,300 pieces were 6 per cent below the prior week and 3 per cent under the previous 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 425,600 pieces were primarily for China (167,800 pieces), South Korea (108,000 pieces), Taiwan (34,300 pieces), and Mexico (33,100 pieces).
Net sales of 75,200 wet blues were 60 per cent lower than the week earlier and 27 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (28,700 unsplit and 10,400 grain split), Mexico (9,000 grain split and 4,500 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (12,000 grain split and 900 unsplit), South Korea (11,000 unsplit), and Taiwan (12,400 unsplit). Exports of 105,700 were 20 per cent over the prior week and 8 per cent above the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (27,300 unsplit), Hong Kong (16,300 unsplit and 1,700 grain split), the Dominican Republic (14,000 grain split and 1,500 unsplit), China (12,100 unsplit), and Mexico (5,800 unsplit and 5,700 grain split).
Net sales of splits totalling 117,700 pounds were 90 per cent below the previous week and 92 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (77,900 pounds) and Mexico (44,000 pounds). Exports of 1,553,100 pounds were 12 per cent higher than the week earlier and 20 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (749,900 pounds), Hong Kong (630,500 pounds), and Italy (129,800 pounds).
