US Export sales for week ending 08/09/2005
Hides and Skins:Net sales of 464,900 pieces were 18 per cent above the previous week and 11 per cent over the prior 4-week average.Whole cattle hide sales of 462,800 pieces were mainly for China (202,700 pieces), South Korea (98,700 pieces), Taiwan (41,300 pieces), Mexico (29,700 pieces), Japan (29,100 pieces), Thailand (28,100 pieces), and Hong Kong (23,600 pieces). Exports of 395,600 pieces were 5 per cent below the prior week and 14 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 391,500 pieces were primarily for China (148,100 pieces), South Korea (100,400 pieces), Japan (40,300 pieces), Mexico (32,000 pieces), and Taiwan (31,500 pieces).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,460,400 pounds were two and one-third times the previous week and 29 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Major increases for China (988,800 pounds) and Italy (484,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong (14,000 pounds). Exports of 799,600 pounds were 49 per cent below the week earlier and 45 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (616,700 pounds), China (88,200 pounds), Taiwan (50,000 pounds), and Mexico (44,700 pounds).
