Cattle slaughterings up 14.6% in June
The number of cattle slaughtered in June 2005 was 14.6% higher than in June
2004.
A comparison of June 2005 and 2004 figures shows that:
- Sheep slaughterings increased by 3.6%.
- Pig slaughterings decreased by 18.0%.
The number of sheep slaughterings in January-June 2005 was 8.5% higher than the corresponding 2004 figure. Over the same period there was a decrease of 6.1% in cattle slaughterings, while pig slaughterings decreased by 7.3%.
