US Export sales for week ending 18/08/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 572,000 pieces were two and one-tenth times the previous week and 46 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 560,400 pieces were mainly for China (246,900 pieces), South Korea (149,200 pieces), Taiwan (47,400 pieces), Japan (36,400 pieces), and Mexico (27,300 pieces). Exports of 572,300 pieces were 31 per cent above the previous week and 28 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 566,000 pieces -a marketing year high -were mainly for China (221,200 pieces), South Korea (139,200 pieces), Taiwan (52,900 pieces), Japan (39,800 pieces), Mexico (39,700 pieces), and Hong Kong (28,700 pieces).
Net sales of splits totalling 560,400 pounds were two-thirds below the previous week and 59 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The buyers were China (366,200 pounds) and Hong Kong (194,200 pounds). Exports of 1,656,200 pounds were 32 per cent above the previous week and 39 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were Hong Kong (962,800 pounds) and China (553,400 pounds).
