US Export sales for week ending 11/08/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 269,400 pieces were down 39 per cent from the previous week and 44 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 238,700 pieces were mainly for China (99,100 pieces), South Korea (72,200 pieces), Mexico (21,400 pieces), Japan (15,500 pieces), and Taiwan (11,700 pieces). Exports of 436,100 pieces equalled the previous week, but were 3 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 433,500 pieces were mainly for China (184,700 pieces), South Korea (111,800 pieces), Hong Kong (39,300 pieces), Taiwan (28,200 pieces), Mexico (27,700 pieces), and Japan (23,500 pieces).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,628,700 pounds were 1 pe rcent above the previous week and 58 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The major buyers were Hong Kong (1,431,800 pounds) and China (94,400 pounds). Exports of 1,250,500 pounds were 18 per cent above the previous week and the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were China (878,800 pounds) and Hong Kong (281,300 pounds).
