Hides and Skins: Net sales of 437,700 pieces were up 10 per cent from the previous week, but down 2 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 434,300 pieces were mainly for China (217,500 pieces), South Korea (84,500 pieces), and Taiwan (47,700 pieces). Exports of 435,300 pieces were unchanged from the week earlier, but up 1 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 422,200 pieces were mainly for China (191,100 pieces), South Korea (89,900 pieces), Taiwan (57,400 pieces), and Japan (26,500 pieces).

Net sales of 97,200 wet blues were 62 per cent below the week earlier and 29 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were the Dominican Republic (41,600 grain split and 8,700 unsplit), South Korea (37,200 unsplit), and Hong Kong (10,700 unsplit). Exports of 77,700 hides were 26 per cent below the prior week and 19 per cent less than the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (19,400 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (17,400 grain split), and Italy (11,000 unsplit).

Net sales of splits totalling 1,615,600 pounds were 53 per cent above the previous week and double the prior 4-week average. Major increases for Hong Kong (1,667,100 pounds) and Italy (132,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (250,000 pounds). Exports of 1,052,300 pounds were 45 per cent below the previous week, but 11 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were Hong Kong (706,800 pounds) and China (258,400 pounds).
