Hides and Skins: Net sales of 401,200 pieces slipped 13 per cent from the previous week and 19 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 393,800 pieces were mainly for China (130,400 pieces), South Korea (106,200 pieces), Mexico (44,300 pieces), and Taiwan (43,700 pieces). Exports of 439,800 pieces were 9 per cent below the week earlier and 5 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 425,900 pieces were mainly for China (202,000 pieces), South Korea (68,800 pieces), Taiwan (40,000 pieces), and Hong Kong (31,400 pieces).

Net sales of 253,800 wet blues were more than three times the week earlier and three and one-tenths times the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (169,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (23,000 unsplit), China (18,500 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (16,000 grain split). Exports of 104,900 hides were 11 per cent below the prior week, but 14 per cent above the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (24,000 grain split and 6,300 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (16,000 grain split), Hong Kong (15,400 unsplit), and South Korea (13,100 unsplit).

Net sales of splits totalling 1,055,400 pounds were 6 per cent below the previous week, but 43 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Major increases for China (927,600 pounds) and Taiwan (200,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (155,000 pounds). Exports of 1,894,900 pounds were nearly three and two-fifths times the previous week and two and two-fifths times the prior 4-week average. The destinations were China (767,300 pounds), Italy (450,000 pounds), Hong Kong (444,800 pounds), Indonesia (188,700 pounds), and Mexico (44,000 pounds).
