US export sales for week ending 7/7/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 297,300 pieces were 49 per cent below the previous week and 45 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 294,300 pieces were mainly for China (123,800 pieces), South Korea (71,600 pieces), and Mexico (43,300 pieces). Exports of 362,900 pieces were 35 per cent lower than the previous week and 29 percent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 359,500 pieces were mainly for China (137,300 pieces) and South Korea (108,200 pieces).
Net sales of 113,700 wet blues were much improved from the previous week, but 18 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (58,000 grain split), Indonesia (26,000 unsplit), and Hong Kong (25,100 unsplit). Exports of 65,400 hides were 28 per cent below the prior week and 50 per cent under the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (18,900 unsplit), South Korea (11,500 unsplit and 1,100 grain split), Hong Kong (10,600 unsplit), and China (9,300 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 740,400 pounds were 3 per cent under the previous week and 9 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The main buyer was Hong Kong (785,800 pounds). Exports of 616,400 pounds were 49 per cent below the previous week and 51 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (332,800 pounds), China (187,400 pounds), and Taiwan (96,200 pounds).
