US export sales for week ending 09/06/2005

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 459,200 pieces were 11 per cent above the previous week and 3 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 428,200 pieces were mainly for China (127,100 pieces), South Korea (106,700 pieces), Japan (48,900 pieces), and Taiwan (47,800 pieces). Exports of 481,000 pieces were 6 per cent below the previous week and 4 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 444,700 pieces were mainly for China (187,700 pieces), South Korea (88,000 pieces), Mexico (38,600 pieces), Taiwan (37,900 pieces), and Hong Kong (35,800 pieces).   

Net sales of 60,700 wet blues were 9 per cent above the previous week, but 33 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (27,300 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (12,000 grain split).  Exports of 125,400 hides were 16 per cent above the prior week and the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (24,900 unsplit), South Korea (22,600 unsplit), Hong Kong (19,500 unsplit and 1,500 grain split), the Dominican Republic (18,000 grain split), and China (17,200 unsplit). 

Net sales of splits totalling 598,900 pounds were 65 per cent below the previous week and 52 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Major increases were reported for Hong Kong (467,000 pounds) and China (84,600 pounds). Exports of 1,274,800 pounds were 23 per cent over the previous week and 7 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (974,300 pounds) and China (253,200 pounds).
