US export sales for week ending 02/06/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 415,700 pieces were 29 per cent below the previous week and 10 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 395,700 pieces were mainly for China (200,900 pieces), South Korea (65,500 pieces), Taiwan (33,700 pieces), and Japan (29,000 pieces). Exports of 510,800 pieces were 2 per cent above the previous week and 8 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 482,800 pieces were mainly for China (185,600 pieces), South Korea (134,700 pieces), Taiwan (39,400 pieces), Mexico (37,600 pieces), and Hong Kong (33,800 pieces).
Net sales of 55,600 wet blues were 36 per cent below the previous week and 45 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were the Dominican Republic (17,800 grain split), Hong Kong (15,100 unsplit), China (9,800 unsplit), and Taiwan (9,100 unsplit). Exports of 108,000 hides were 12 per cent above the prior week, but 7 per cent under the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (22,600 unsplit and 1,800 grain split), China (22,200 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (20,500 grain split), Hong Kong (13,700 unsplit and 2,800 grain split), and Taiwan (11,200 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,694,400 pounds were much improved from the previous week and 93 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Major increases were reported for China (613,800 pounds), Indonesia (441,600 pounds), Taiwan (350,000 pounds), and Hong Kong (244,000 pounds). Exports of 1,040,300 pounds were 32 per cent below the previous week and 19 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (421,300 pounds), Hong Kong (382,500 pounds), and Indonesia (191,600 pounds).
