US export sales for week ending 28/04/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 466,100 pieces were 26 per cent lower than the previous week and 14 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 425,200 pieces were mainly for South Korea (164,000 pieces), China (101,000 pieces), and Taiwan (62,700 pieces). Exports of 470,200 pieces were 9 per cent above the previous week and 5 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 431,500 pieces were mainly for China (179,000 pieces), South Korea (108,300 pieces), and Taiwan (65,100 pieces).
Net sales of 68,400 wet blues were 24 per cent below the previous week and 37 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were the Dominican Republic (16,000 grain split), Hong Kong (14,400 unsplit), Taiwan (12,500 unsplit), South Korea (8,400 unsplit), and Italy (8,000 unsplit). Exports of 87,300 hides were 7 per cent below the prior week and 16 per cent under the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (25,600 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (17,300 grain split), China (11,600 unsplit and 2,100 grain split), and Hong Kong (12,300 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totalling 364,700 pounds were 37 per cent less than the previous week and 69 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Major increases were reported for China (264,200 pounds) and Italy (176,000 pounds). Exports of 2,427,900 pounds were 4 per cent above the previous week and 26 per cent higher than the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were Hong Kong (1,340,500 pounds), China (573,900 pounds), South Korea (250,000 pounds), and Italy (223,200 pounds).
