US export sales for week ending 10/02/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 489,500 pieces were 10 per cent above the previous week and 30 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 433,800 pieces were primarily for South Korea (224,800 pieces) and China (128,400 pieces). Exports of 481,000 pieces were equal to the previous week and 2 per cent higher than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 440,300 pieces were mainly for China (182,900 pieces) and South Korea (133,600 pieces).
Net sales of 20,300 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 74 per cent below the previous week and 78 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyer was South Korea (14,700 unsplit). Exports of 75,100 hides were 21 per cent under the prior week and 11 per cent below the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (21,900 unsplit), Hong Kong (20,700 unsplit), and Taiwan (6,800 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 947,300 pounds were 37 per cent below the previous week and 57 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The major buyers were Italy (310,500 pounds), South Korea (300,000 pounds), and Hong Kong (296,000 pounds). Exports of 1,249,300 pounds were equal to the previous week, but 31 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (450,500 pounds), Italy (308,500 pounds), and China (301,600 pounds).
