US export sales for week ending 11/11/2004

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 383,600 pieces were 11 per cent below the previous week and 12 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 378,200 pieces were primarily for China (182,900 pieces) and South Korea (90,700 pieces). Exports of 393,100 pieces were down 12 per cent from the previous week and 8 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 391,600 pieces were mainly for South Korea (122,700 pieces) and China (110,400 pieces).   

Net sales of 47,900 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 51 per cent under the prior week and 47 per cent below the previous 4-week average. The primary buyers were Mexico (9,400 grain split and 8,000 unsplit), South Korea (11,200 unsplit), and Thailand (10,300 unsplit).  Exports of 71,200 hides were down 30 per cent from the previous week and 25 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (33,100 unsplit), China (10,000 unsplit and 400 grain split), and Mexico (5,000 grain split and 4,000 unsplit). 

Net sales of splits totalling 1,073,700 pounds were 43 per cent below the previous week and 37 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (769,600 pounds), China (126,000 pounds), and Italy (88,000 pounds).  Exports of 1,408,800 pounds were 24 per cent below the previous week, but 26 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were Hong Kong (832,500 pounds), Italy (270,000 pounds), and China (171,200 pounds).
