US export sales for week ending 07/10/2004

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 425,400 pieces were 4 per cent below the previous week and 7 per cent less than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 378,200 pieces were primarily for South Korea (116,600 pieces), China (89,300 pieces), and Taiwan (49,300 pieces). 

Exports of 432,700 pieces were down 16 per cent from the previous week and 6 per cent from the prior 4-week average. 

Whole cattle hide exports of 397,700 pieces were mainly for China (128,600 pieces), South Korea (123,400 pieces), and Taiwan (47,500 pieces).    

Net sales of 81,600 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 9 per cent above the prior week, but 24 per cent under the previous 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (26,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (22,000 unsplit), Mexico (8,900 unsplit and 1,400 grain split), and Taiwan (7,800 unsplit).

Exports of 76,600 hides were down 5 per cent from the previous week and 7 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (23,300 unsplit), Italy (13,200 unsplit), and China (8,400 unsplit and 1,400 grain split). 

Net sales of splits totalling 1,135,900 pounds were 12 per cent below the previous week, but up 4 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (616,000 pounds), Hong Kong (394,600 pounds), and Mexico (132,700 pounds). 

Exports of 1,369,000 pounds were 31 per cent below the previous week and 16 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were Italy (554,900 pounds), Hong Kong (350,000 pounds), China (173,000 pounds), and Taiwan (146,400 pounds).
