Whole cattle hide sales of 395,100 pieces were primarily for South Korea (145,800 pieces) and China (141,300 pieces). Exports of 490,900 pieces were up 5 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 459,900 pieces were mainly for China (169,900 pieces) and South Korea (169,300 pieces).
Net sales of 128,700 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 31 percent above the prior week and 34 percent over the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Taiwan (34,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (25,600 unsplit), South Korea (16,800 unsplit and 2,200 grain split), and China (14,000 unsplit and 2,800 grain split). Exports of 78,100 hides were 17 percent under the previous week and 14 percent below the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (23,000 unsplit), Taiwan (15,000 unsplit), Italy (13,800 unsplit), and South Korea (8,400 unsplit and 5,000 grain split). Net sales of splits totaling 266,000 pounds were 73 percent under the previous week and 81 percent below the prior 4-week average. Increases for Mexico (174,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (95,300 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Indonesia (3,300 pounds). Exports of 1,326,900 pounds were 18 percent below the previous week and 15 percent under the prior 4-week average. The major destinations were Hong Kong (545,900 pounds), Mexico (333,400 pounds), and China (216,000 pounds).
