US export sales for week ending 16/09/2004 - 24.9.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 441,800 pieces were 7 per cent below the previous week, but 6 per cent above the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 407,100 pieces were primarily for China (102,000 pieces), South Korea (97,200 pieces), and Taiwan (51,200 pieces).  Exports of 466,400 pieces were up 31 per cent from the previous week and 12 per cent over the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 427,900 pieces were mainly for China (145,400 pieces) and South Korea (123,400 pieces).    

Net sales of 98,200 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 23 per cent below the prior week, but 10 per cent above the prior 4-week average.  The primary buyers were Hong Kong (46,600 unsplit), South Korea (24,300 unsplit), and Mexico (16,800 unsplit and 1,100 grain split). 

Exports of 94,500 hides were 26 per cent above the previous week, but 3 per cent below the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Hong Kong (24,400 unsplit and 5,400 grain split), Italy (21,900 unsplit), and Taiwan (12,800 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totalling 987,200 pounds were 47 per cent under the previous week and 35 per cent below the prior 4-week average.  The major buyers were Italy (573,000 pounds), Indonesia (200,000 pounds), and Mexico (168,000 pounds). 

Exports of 1,623,900 pounds were 5 per cent more than the previous week, but 9 per cent less than the prior 4-week average.  The major destinations were Hong Kong (465,300 pounds), China (433,100 pounds), and Mexico (412,600 pounds).
