Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 493,600 pieces were 10 percent below the previous week, but 14 percent more than the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 390,100 pieces were primarily for China (144,400 pieces) and South Korea (98,100 pieces).  Exports of 550,100 pieces were up 19 percent from the previous week and 15 percent above the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 443,600 pieces were mainly for China (139,600 pieces) and South Korea (106,500 pieces).  

Net sales of 56,300 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 43 percent below the previous week and 46 percent under the prior 4-week average.  The primary buyers were Hong Kong (25,000 unsplit and 5,400 grain split), Mexico (14,900 unsplit and 3,500 grain split), and Taiwan (13,000 unsplit).  Exports of 85,900 hides were 23 percent below the previous week and the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Hong Kong (35,500 unsplit and 1,800 grain split), Taiwan (19,000 unsplit), and Mexico (6,000 unsplit and 5,600 grain split).  Net sales of splits totaling 1,986,300 pounds were four and one-tenth times the previous week and two-thirds above the prior 4-week average.  The major buyers were Mexico (1,198,000 pounds), Hong Kong (522,900 pounds), Italy (308,000 pounds), and Indonesia (200,000 pounds).  Decreases of 500,000 pounds were reported for Taiwan.  Exports of 2,215,900 pounds were up 62 percent from the previous week and 52 percent above the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Hong Kong (1,332,100 pounds), China (464,500 pounds), and Mexico (419,300 pounds).
