Whole cattle hide sales of 376,100 pieces were primarily for China (182,400 pieces) and South Korea (80,600 pieces). Exports of 503,100 pieces were down 20 percent from the previous week and 9 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 490,100 pieces were mainly for South Korea (168,700 pieces) and China (154,800 pieces).
Net sales of 68,500 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were two and one-tenth times the previous week, but 28 percent below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were South Korea (11,700 unsplit and 9,900 grain split), Italy (10,800 unsplit and 200 grain split), Hong Kong (10,700 unsplit), and Indonesia (10,300 unsplit). Exports of 119,500 hides were 5 percent above the previous week and 20 percent more than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (32,600 unsplit and 1,800 grain split), South Korea (15,900 grain split and 5,100 unsplit), China (18,800 unsplit and 1,600 grain split), and Taiwan (11,700 unsplit and 1,500 grain split). Net sales of splits totalling 1,791,600 pounds were 36 percent below the previous week and 14 percent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (1,077,400 pounds) and China (223,300 pounds). Exports of 1,460,900 pounds were up 36 percent from the previous week, but down 4 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (584,900 pounds), Italy (355,000 pounds), Taiwan (173,900 pounds), and Mexico (167,300 pounds).
