Whole cattle hide sales of 467,700 pieces were primarily for South Korea (162,700 pieces) and China (95,000 pieces). Exports of 421,400 pieces were down 29% from the previous week and 16% from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 409,300 pieces were mainly for China (126,600 pieces), South Korea (113,900 pieces), and Taiwan (45,200 pieces).
Net sales of 169,600 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were nearly three times the previous week and 55% over the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (35,700 unsplit), South Korea (27,000 unsplit and 5,100 grain split), China (23,200 unsplit and 4,300 grain split), Hong Kong (5,400 unsplit and 16,300 grain split), Mexico (13,200 grain split), and the Dominican Republic (10,200 unsplit). Exports of 95,700 hides were 23% above the previous week, but 4% less than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (25,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (18,100 unsplit and 700 grain split), South Korea (12,800 unsplit and 1,500 grain split), and Taiwan (13,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 1,003,500 pounds were down 72% from the previous week and 31% below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (650,000 pounds) and Italy (264,000 pounds). Exports of 1,739,600 pounds were 26% below the previous week, but 11% over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (736,500 pounds), Italy (400,600 pounds), Mexico (346,500 pounds), and China (168,000 pounds).
