Whole cattle hide sales of 445,900 pieces were primarily for South Korea (202,600 pieces), China (122,200 pieces), and Taiwan (42,800 pieces). Exports of 408,000 pieces were equal to the previous week, but 16 percent lower than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 389,200 pieces were mainly for China (141,600 pieces), South Korea (128,600 pieces), and Taiwan (44,300 pieces).
Net sales of 142,600 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were up 35 percent from the previous week and the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (46,300 unsplit), Hong Kong (26,700 unsplit and 700 grain split), Taiwan (16,100 grain split and 9,900 unsplit), and Thailand (14,100 unsplit). Exports of 110,900 hides were 7 percent below the previous week, but 13 percent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (40,300 unsplit and 700 grain split), Thailand (25,800 unsplit), Mexico (8,400 grain split and 5,100 unsplit), and China (11,100 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 1,199,100 pounds were 25 percent below the prior week, but 9 percent over the previous 4-week average. The primary buyer was Mexico (1,148,900 pounds). Exports of 1,181,600 pounds were 36 percent above the previous week, but 45 percent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (526,200 pounds), Italy (399,700 pounds), Mexico (129,000 pounds), and China (88,000 pounds).
