Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 378,700 pieces were down one-third from the previous week and the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 344,200 pieces were primarily for China (122,000 pieces) and South Korea (50,300 pieces).  Exports of 479,600 pieces were up 24 percent from the week earlier and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 449,700 pieces were mainly for China (139,000 pieces), South Korea (112,900 pieces), and Taiwan (48,000 pieces). 

Net sales of 74,600 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 14 percent above the prior week, but 26 percent under the previous 4-week average.  The primary buyers were Hong Kong (30,900 unsplit and 4,000 grain split), Mexico (7,600 grain split and 100 unsplit), South Korea (7,700 grain split), Japan (7,200 grain split), and Taiwan (7,100 unsplit).  Exports of 65,400 hides were 3 percent above the previous week, but 18 percent under the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Italy (16,500 unsplit), Hong Kong (13,800 unsplit and 1,800 grain split), Mexico (6,700 grain split and 5,100 unsplit), and Taiwan (7,100 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totalling 966,100 pounds were 69 percent below the prior week and 33 percent under the previous 4-week average.  The primary buyers were Hong Kong (786,700 pounds), and Mexico (89,900 pounds).  Exports of 1,870,100 pounds were 14 percent below the prior week and down 6 percent from the previous 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Hong Kong (1,014,000 pounds), Taiwan (324,900 pounds), and Mexico (301,600 pounds).
