Whole cattle hide sales of 470,200 pieces were primarily for South Korea (320,900 pieces) and China (122,200 pieces). Exports of 645,900 pieces were 25 percent more than the previous week and 22 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 644,100 pieces were mainly for South Korea (262,800 pieces), China (159,400 pieces), Hong Kong (57,900 pieces), and Taiwan (52,200 pieces).
Net sales of 136,500 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 48 percent over the prior week and 37 percent above the previous 4-week average. The principal buyers were Italy (43,400 unsplit), South Korea (28,100 unsplit and 4,200 grain split), Hong Kong (16,600 unsplit), Spain (15,800 grain split), Taiwan (14,300 unsplit), and Mexico (9,500 grain split and 2,000 unsplit). Exports of 112,700 hides were 33 percent above the previous week and the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were South Korea (28,800 unsplit and 3,900 grain split), Italy (31,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (21,000 grain split and 1,700 grain split), and Taiwan (14,200 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 317,500 pounds were 13 percent less than the previous week’s level and 81 percent below the prior 4-week average. The principal buyers were Hong Kong (183,800 pounds) and China (135,000 pounds). Exports of 1,316,300 pounds were 47 percent above the prior week and 23 percent more than the previous 4-week average. The principal destinations were Hong Kong (587,800 pounds) and South Korea (415,000 pounds).
