Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 465,000 pieces were 5 percent below the previous week and 19 percent under the 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 419,000 pieces were primarily for China (196,100 pieces), South Korea (145,000 pieces), and Hong Kong (53,200 pieces).  Exports of 453,500 pieces were 27 percent lower than the prior week and 15 percent less than the 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide shipments of 406,000 pieces were destined mainly for South Korea (112,100 pieces), China (102,500 pieces), and Japan (41,300 pieces).

 Net sales of 12,100 wet blues resulted as increases for Thailand (8,000 unsplit), South Korea (3,400 grain split and 1,900 unsplit), Taiwan (3,100 grain split), and Mexico (2,700 unsplit) were partially offset by decreases for India (4,600 unsplit).  Exports of 69,900 hides were 13 percent over the prior week and 10 percent over the 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Hong Kong (20,600 unsplit), Taiwan (14,600 unsplit), and Mexico (10,000 unsplit and 1,700 grain split).  Net sales of splits totaling 270,500 pounds were down 32 percent from the previous week and 71 percent from the 4-week average.  The buyers were Italy (150,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (98,600 pounds).  Exports of 1,127,700 pounds equaled the prior week, but were 22 percent short of the 4-week average.  The destinations were Hong Kong (494,800 pounds), South Korea (437,100 pounds), Mexico (145,800 pounds), and China (50,000 pounds).
