US export sales for week ending 24/02/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 505,200 pieces were 96 per cent above the previous week and 10 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 436,600 pieces were primarily for China (209,900 pieces) and South Korea (101,200 pieces). Exports of 403,100 pieces were 9 per cent below the previous week and 20 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 328,300 pieces were mainly for South Korea (120,600 pieces) and China (108,600 pieces).
Net sales of 66,200 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 45 per cent below the previous week and 26 per cent less than the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (33,100 unsplit and 4,600 grain split) and Thailand (12,000 unsplit and 10,000 grain split). Exports of 73,600 hides were 24 per cent below the prior week and 16 per cent lower than the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (27,800 unsplit and 2,000 grain split) and Hong Kong (18,200 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,826,100 pounds were 36 per cent above the previous week and 24 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The major buyer was Hong Kong (1,742,700 pounds). Exports of 1,051,200 pounds were 14 per cent less than the previous week and 33 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were Hong Kong (598,500 pounds) and Italy (432,400 pounds).
