Hides and Skins: Net sales of 443,500 pieces were 4 per cent below the previous week, but 1 per cent more than the prior 4-week average.
Whole cattle hide sales of 393,900 pieces were primarily for China (119,700 pieces), South Korea (100,700 pieces), and Mexico (44,300 pieces).
Exports of 517,400 pieces were up 5 per cent from the previous week and 20 per cent from the prior 4-week average.
Whole cattle hide exports of 450,600 pieces were mainly for China (153,500 pieces), South Korea (118,800 pieces), and Taiwan (44,300 pieces).
Net sales of 74,700 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 42 per cent below the prior week and 25 per cent under the 4-week average.
The primary buyers were Hong Kong (25,300 unsplit), Italy (14,700 unsplit), and Mexico (13,000 grain split). Exports of 80,500 hides were up 3 per cent from the previous week, but down 3 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (28,500 unsplit and 1,700 grain split), Mexico (7,200 unsplit and 6,100 grain split), Italy (11,700 unsplit), and South Korea (10,500 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,284,400 pounds were four and four-fifths times the previous week, but down 5 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (792,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (400,000 pounds). Exports of 1,974,600 pounds were 49 per cent above the previous week and 25 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Italy (1,032,500 pounds) was the leading destination, followed by China (381,700 pounds), Mexico (244,900 pounds), and Taiwan (215,500 pounds).
