Net sales of 70,900 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were up 12 percent from the prior week, but down 22 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (21,100 unsplit), Mexico (13,900 grain split and 6,000 unsplit), and Taiwan (12,900 unsplit). Exports of 117,600 hides were 2 percent more than the previous week, but 5 percent less than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (28,600 unsplit), Taiwan (25,500 unsplit), Italy (14,400 unsplit), South Korea (8,400 unsplit and 5,700 grain split), and China (14,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 1,616,400 pounds were 19 percent above the previous week and 24 percent over the prior 4-week average. The major buyers were Mexico (692,000 pounds), Hong Kong (522,700 pounds), and China (406,000 pounds). Exports of 2,500,500 pounds were 61 percent above the previous week and 49 percent over the prior 4-week average. Hong Kong (1,293,800 pounds) was the leading destination, followed by China (471,700 pounds), Mexico (372,300 pounds), and Italy (177,100 pounds).
