Whole cattle hide sales of 701,400 pieces were primarily for China (320,600 pieces), South Korea (185,600 pieces), and Hong Kong (75,900 pieces). Exports of 562,700 pieces were up 28% from the previous week and 13% from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 544,900 pieces were mainly for China (210,800 pieces), South Korea (174,400 pieces), and Hong Kong (70,400 pieces).
Net sales of 122,600 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 14% above the previous week, but 6% under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (43,700 unsplit and 2,700 grain split), Taiwan (46,000 unsplit), and Mexico (9,100 unsplit and 6,900 grain split). Exports of 111,800 hides were 8% below the previous week, but 1% over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (17,300 unsplit and 8,200 grain split), Hong Kong (20,000 unsplit and 4,600 grain split), China (15,400 unsplit and 1,000 grain split), and Taiwan (6,700 unsplit and 7,700 grain split). Net sales of splits totalling 917,200 pounds were 63% below the previous week, but 89% above the prior 4-week average. The primary buyer was Hong Kong (824,800 pounds). Exports of 891,200 pounds were down 42% from the previous week and 34% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (489,800 pounds), Italy (227,900 pounds), Mexico (128,400 pounds), and South Korea (45,000 pounds).
