The number of cattle slaughtered in February 2004 was 6.5% lower than in
February 2003.
A comparison of figures for February 2004 and 2003 shows that sheep slaughterings increased 0.6% and pig slaughterings decreased 9.1%.
The number of sheep slaughtered during January-February 2004 increased 0.4% year-on-year in 2003.
Over the same period, cattle slaughterings fell 8.4% while pig slaughterings decreased by 10.5%.
