Hides and Skins: Net sales of 327,900 pieces were two and one-fifth times the previous week. Whole cattle hide sales of 286,900 pieces were primarily for South Korea (165,000 pieces), Taiwan (33,700 pieces), Hong Kong (25,400 pieces), and China (22,200 pieces). Exports of 316,400 pieces were 11% below the previous week and the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 299,700 pieces were mainly for South Korea (115,600 pieces) and China (93,600 pieces).
Net sales of 102,500 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 95% above the previous week. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (72,100 unsplit) and Indonesia (14,400 unsplit). Exports of 92,900 hides were 50% below the previous week, but 2% above the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (34,700 unsplit and 700 grain split) and China (28,900 unsplit and 2,000 grain split). Net sales of splits totalled 3,266,700 pounds. The primary buyers were Italy (2,002,800 pounds), Mexico (711,500 pounds), and Hong Kong (252,400 pounds). Exports of 1,631,800 pounds were for Hong Kong (606,100 pounds), Italy (398,100 pounds), China (216,800 pounds), Mexico (210,800 pounds), and Taiwan (200,000 pounds).
