Whole cattle hide exports of 420,700 pieces were mainly for China (98,000 pieces) and South Korea (89,100 pieces).
Net sales of 106,900 wet blues (mainly unsplit) were 10 percent below the prior week, but 9 percent over the previous 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (42,800 unsplit and 700 grain split), Taiwan (27,700 unsplit and 3,100 grain split), Italy (19,500 unsplit), and Japan (11,200 grain split). Exports of 78,000 hides were 14 percent under the previous week and the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (24,000 unsplit), Italy (19,500 unsplit), Taiwan (13,700 unsplit), and South Korea (12,600 grain split). Sales of splits totaling 970,500 pounds were 47 percent above the previous week, but 59 percent below the prior 4-week average. The buyers were Mexico (442,400 pounds), South Korea (270,000 pounds), and Hong Kong (258,100 pounds). Exports of 993,500 pounds were 45 percent below the prior week and 52 percent under the previous 4-week average. The principal destinations were Hong Kong (508,100 pounds), Italy (270,000 pounds), and Mexico (128,400 pounds).
