For the period ending April 30 there were exports from the US of 219,200 whole cattle hides. The destinations were primarily China (150,900 pieces), Thailand (21,000 pieces), Mexico (20,500 pieces), South Korea (11,00) and Brazil (10,000 pieces). 

There were also exports of 166,900 wet blue hides. The destinations in this case were primarily Vietnam (65,000), Italy (50,200 unsplit) and China (26,600 unsplit). 

The most recent reports on hide prices have shown butt-branded steer hides weighing 62-64 pounds down slightly at $20 each, but heavy Texas steers weighing 60-62 pounds up slightly at $11 per piece. Cow hide prices were unchanged with northern dairy cows at $7.50, south-west dairy cows at $7, northern branded cows at $2 and south-west branded cows at $1.50, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
