Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending May 15 were 475,300 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 25,300 pieces.
The most recent reports on hide prices showed butt-branded steer hides weighing 60-62 pounds at $15.25 each, and heavy Texas steers weighing 60-62 pounds reaching $10 per piece.
Cow hide prices had northern dairy cows at $12, south-west dairy cows at $11.50, while northern branded cows were $4 and south-west branded cows at just $3, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
