Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending December 5 were 255,000 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 68,300 pieces.
The most recent reports on hide prices showed Colorado branded steers weighing 64-66 pounds at $20 per piece, and heavy Texas steers weighing 60-62 up by $1 to $18 per piece.
As they have for many weeks now, cow hide prices remained at $14 for northern dairy cows, $13.50 for south-west dairy cows, $7 for northern branded cows and $6.50 for south-west branded cows, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
