Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending July 4 were 349,800 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 61,900 pieces.

The most recent reports on hide prices showed a slight fall for steer hides, with heavy Texas steers weighing 60-62 costing $17. 

Cow hide prices remained at $14 for northern dairy cows, $13.50 for south-west dairy cows, $7 for northern branded cows and $6.50 for south-west branded cows, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
