Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending February 29 were 391,000 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 202,100 pieces.

The most recent reports on hide prices showed levels of $29 for butt-branded steers weighing 64-66 pounds, $21.50 for Colorado branded steers weighing 63-65 pounds, and $18 for heavy Texas steers with weights of 60-62 pounds. 

Cow hide prices were $18 for northern dairy cows, $17.50 for south-west dairy cows, $9.50 for northern branded cows and $9 for south-west branded cows, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
