Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending February 1 were 297,500 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 38,800 pieces.

The most recent reports on hide prices showed levels of $18 for heavy Texas steers with weights of 60-62 pounds, and prices of $28.25 for branded butt hides weighing 66-68 pounds.

For cow hides, prices were unchanged at $17 for northern dairy cows, $16.50 for south-west dairy cows, $9.50 for northern branded cows and $8.50 for south-west branded cows, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
