Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending January 18 were 426,100 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 217,800 pieces.
The most recent reports on hide prices are unchanged, showing levels of $18.50 for heavy Texas steers with weights of 60-62 pounds, and prices of $24 for the same hides weighing 64-66 pounds. Branded Colorado steers weighing 66-68 points were at $22.50.
For cow hides, the most recent prices were $17 for northern dairy cows, $16.50 for south-west dairy cows, $9.50 for northern branded cows and $8.50 for south-west branded cows, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
