Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending January 4 were 337,000 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 114,600 pieces.
The most recent reports on hide prices are unchanged, showing levels of between $23.25 and $24.75 for branded Colorado steers with weights of 66-68 pounds, and $18.50 for heavy Texas steers with weights of 60-62 pounds.
For cow hides, prices were $16 for northern dairy cows, $15.50 for south-west dairy cows, $9 for northern branded cows and $8 for south-west branded cows, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
