Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending October 19 were 523,300 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 112,800 pieces.

The most recent reports on hide prices show levels of $25 for Colorado branded steers with weights of 66-68 pounds, and $19 for heavy Texas steers with weights of 60-62 pounds. 

For cow hides, prices were $15.50 for northern dairy cows, $15 for south-west dairy cows, $8.50 for northern branded cows and $7.50 for south-west branded cows, with weights of 50-52 pounds in each case.
