Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending September 7 were 379,700 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 167,200 pieces.
The most recent reports on hide prices have continued to show levels of $20 for heavy Texas steers, with weights of 60-62 pounds, although the price had gone up to $20.50 earlier in the month. We also saw prices of $33.75 for butt-branded steers of 62-64 pounds, and $27 for Colorado-branded steers of the same weight.
Branded heifer hides weighing 48-50 pounds have been priced at $20 on recent lists. No other new cow hide prices have come to light.
