Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending July 13 were 339,000 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 94,600 pieces.
The most recent hide prices have shown $30.50 for butt-branded steers, prices between $24.50 and $25.50 for Colorado branded steers and $19 for heavy Texas steers, with weights of 60-62 pounds in each case. The most recent prices for cowhides were unchanged at $14.50 for northern dairy cows, $13.50 for southwest dairy cows, $7.50 for branded northern cows and $7 for branded southwestern cows. Cow hide weights in each case were 50-52 pounds.
