Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending June 1 were 396,800 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 210,100 pieces.

The most recent hide prices show $18 for heavy Texas steers weighing 60-62, while branded heifer hides weighing 48-50 pounds were priced at $19.50. The most recent prices for cowhides were $14.50 for northern dairy cows, $13.50 for southwest dairy cows, $7.50 for branded northern cows and $7 for branded southwestern cows. Cow hide weights in each case were 50-52 pounds.
