Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending February 23 were 390,200 pieces. The figure for exports of wet blue was 152,100 pieces.

The most recent hide prices show $26 for heavy Texas steers weighing 74-78 pounds and $19.50 for the same type weighing 60-62 pounds. The most recent prices for cowhides show levels of $16 for northern dairy cows, $15 for southwest dairy cows, $9 for branded northern cows and $8 for branded southwestern cows. Cow hide weights in each case were 50-52 pounds.
