Sales of cured cattle hides for the period ending January 7 were 340,400 pieces, while the figure for wet blue was 140,000 pieces. 

The most recent steer hide prices include levels of $37.75 for a butt-branded steer hide weighing a minimum of 64 pounds. For cow hides, prices ranged from $24 for dairy cow hides weighing 50 to 52 pounds, to $12.50 for branded cow hides in the south-west weighing between 50 and 52 pounds.
