Hides and Skins: Net sales of 541,800 pieces reported for delivery in 2010, up two percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hides sales of 527,700 pieces were mainly for China (210,100 pieces), South Korea (191,400 pieces), Hong Kong (32,400 pieces, including 1,800 pieces switched from China and decreases of 600 pieces), Thailand (29,600 pieces), Mexico (18,300 pieces) and Japan (17,600 pieces). Exports of 498,700 pieces were up 20 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hides exports of 496,100 pieces were primarily to China (193,900 pieces), South Korea (143,800 pieces), Hong Kong (40,000 pieces), Taiwan (34,700 pieces) and Thailand (22,000 pieces). 

Net sales of 145,800 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were up 32 percent from the previous week, but down seven percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (43,300 unsplit and 6,100 grain splits), China (20,600 unsplit), Hong Kong (20,400 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (12,000 unsplit and 7,300 grain splits). Exports of 123,700 hides were primarily to Italy (46,400 unsplit), China (34,900 unsplit), Mexico (5,800 unsplit and 4,600 grain splits) and Thailand (9,600 unsplit). Net sales of 3,600 unsplit for delivery in 2011 were for China.  Net sales splits totalling 71,500 pounds resulted as increases for China (87,600 pounds) and Indonesia (4,200 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (12,200 pounds), Hong Kong (5,900 pounds) and Italy (1,900 pounds). Exports of 553,500 pounds were primarily for South Korea (425,600 pounds) and Hong Kong (126,100 pounds).
