Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 529,000 pieces reported for delivery in 2010, up 28 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides sales of 518,000 pieces were mainly for China (227,200 pieces), South Korea (133,500 pieces), Taiwan (48,000 pieces), Hong Kong (34,700 pieces), Vietnam (27,400 pieces), and Mexico (17,500 pieces).  Exports of 461,600 pieces were down 1 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports of 452,000 pieces were primarily to China (175,900 pieces), South Korea (113,100 pieces), Hong Kong (30,200 pieces), Taiwan (25,400 pieces), and Thailand (25,200 pieces).

Net sales of 214,600 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were unchanged from the previous week and up 31 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary buyers were Italy (91,500 unsplit and 3,000 grain splits), China (87,300 unsplit), and Mexico (15,400 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for the Dominican Republic (400 grain splits).  Exports of 180,400 hides--a marketing-year high--were primarily to Italy (48,800 unsplit), China (46,700 unsplit), Mexico (24,500 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit), and Taiwan (17,600 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 1,475,200 pounds were mainly for South Korea (1,371,400 pounds) and China (100,000 pounds).  Exports of 411,100 pounds were primarily for South Korea (407,400 pounds).
