Hides and Skins: Net sales of 511,900 pieces reported for delivery in 2010, up 22 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hides sale of 511,500 pieces were mainly for China (198,500 pieces), South Korea (192,100 pieces), Taiwan (39,300 pieces), Hong Kong (22,200 pieces), Vietnam (16,800 pieces) and Mexico (15,700 pieces). Exports of 519,000 pieces were up eight percent from the previous week and nine percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hides exports were primarily to China (235,600 pieces), South Korea (114,900 pieces), Taiwan (44,800 pieces), Vietnam (33,800 pieces) and Mexico (17,800 pieces).

Net sales of 87,000 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were down one percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (37,700 unsplit), Thailand (36,100 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (11,400 grain splits) and Italy (2,800 grain splits). Decreases were reported for Mexico (3,500 grain splits). Exports of 109,500 hides were primarily to China (44,700 unsplit), Italy (18,900 unsplit and 1,000 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (8,100 grain splits and 5,400 unsplit), Thailand (8,700 unsplits) and Mexico (5,500 grain splits and 1,900 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 1,614,200 pounds were reported for South Korea (916,700 pounds), China (533,900 pounds), Hong Kong (88,000 pounds) and Indonesia (75,600 pounds). Exports of 369,900 pounds were mainly to South Korea (188,500 pounds), China (86,400 pounds) and Hong Kong (50,000 pounds).
