Hides and Skins: Net sales of 550,500 pieces, all whole cattle hides were up 71 percent from the previous week and 92 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (210,700 pieces), South Korea (153,800 pieces), Taiwan (70,000 pieces), Hong Kong (22,000 pieces), Japan (21,100 pieces) and Mexico (20,200 pieces). Exports of 479,600 pieces were unchanged from the previous week and up nine percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hides export of 478,300 pieces were primarily to China (217,500 pieces), South Korea (113,800 pieces), Taiwan (28,500 pieces), Mexico (23,100 pieces) and Italy (21,400 pieces). 

Net sales of 133,200 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were down 15 percent from the previous week, but up 11 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (88,600 unsplit), Vietnam (24,400 unsplit), Mexico (13,700 grain splits and 300 unsplit), Thailand (5,500 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (3,900 unsplit). Decreases were reported for South Korea (5,100 unsplit). Exports of 119,100 hides were primarily for China (45,700 unsplit), Italy (19,700 unsplit), Mexico (11,600 grain splits and 7,500 unsplit), Hong Kong (10,000 unsplit and 2,000 grain splits) and Vietnam (11,800 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 144,200 pounds were reported for China (96,500 pounds) and South Korea (47,600 pounds). Exports of 588,800 pounds were for South Korea (413,600 pounds), Italy (90,000 pounds), and China (85,100 pounds).
